The Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce works to promote the attributes of our industrious business community and provides ways to increase their profitability.
Our growing membership is served by four active committees that work together with the Executive Director and Assistant to offer a full calendar of events to benefit the membership as well as the community. The Chamber also acts as a strong advocate for business concerns through our connections with government on both the local and state levels.
One of our committees, Generation Greenbrier Valley, was organized by the Chamber for young emerging leaders in the area to provide networking, social and business opportunities. Their mission is to attract and retain young people to the area and to engage and empower members to cultivate a more prosperous economy.
The Chamber provides great networking opportunities through a Business After Hours or Business Before Hours social, which showcases an area business location. Our annual events include the Annual Meeting and Dinner at The Greenbrier Resort, as well as our MEGA Business Showcase and Marketplace event-- last year we were proud to have over 85 vendors and over 1000 attendees!
Members have benefited from the outstanding marketing exposure from all of these events, as well as our Business Directory and Community Guide, which includes our online and print membership directories.
The Chamber provides Power Lunches or educational workshops each month through local collaborative efforts with the Small Business Administration and SCORE workshops, the Women's Business Center's Marketing Conference, and the 21st Century Learning Initiative Forum with the Greenbrier County Schools System. A skilled and educated workforce is a top business concern, so the Chamber organizes an interactive Career Day to engage high school sophomores and motivate thinking about productive careers.
These are only some of the ways in which the Greater Greenbrier Chamber of Commerce is moving forward to provide our members with opportunities for a greater tomorrow.
